Do you have unexplained health symptoms such as aching muscles or joints, times of real fatigue, trouble sleeping, headachy days or days where you just can’t think and get it together? Could it be electromagnetic frequency in the environment that is affecting your health?

If there was just one thing you could do to improve your health, prevent disease and decrease the effects of aging, surely you would pay money (and lots of it) for this information. But amazingly it is FREE and simple to do.

Why we are suffering from being increasingly ‘wired’.

The growth of cell phones has been extraordinary, mobile phone towers are everywhere, wi-fi technologies are now in most homes. You probably have a cordless phone, a wireless baby monitor or alarm system, or maybe even a USB-powered device that gives your cell phone or Ipad or iphone Web access. And even if you don’t have them, the neighbourhood does.

The point about this is that whether you like it or not, your environment is saturated by wireless technologies and the frequencies they emit. YOU cannot help being affected by these man made electromagnetic fields (EMFs).

An expert in electromagnetic sensitivity, Dr Thomas Rau of Switzerland, estimates that 3-8 percent of populations in developed countries experience serious electro hypersensitivity symptoms, while 35 percent experience mild symptoms.

Another expert, Dr Andrew Goldsworthy of Imperial College London, has shown in his work on calcium metabolism in living cells how weak electromagnetic fields from cell phones, cordless phones and WiFi can damage glands resulting in obesity and related disorders, chronic fatigue, autism, increases in allergies and multiple chemical sensitivities, early dementia, DNA damage, loss of fertility and cancer.

What Factors make you more susceptible to EMF damage?

According to the research by Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt in the US, it is your physical body, such as your body weight, body-mass index, bone density, and water and electrolyte levels that can alter the conductivity and biological reactivity to EMFs. Heavy metals in your brain also act as micro-antennas, concentrating and increasing reception of EMF radiation. Likewise, any kind of metal implants and/or amalgam tooth fillings will significantly increase reception of microwaves, and the microcurrents from cell phones and other ambient fields. (1)

Most importantly because of their growing bodies and brains it is children who are most dramatically affected. No one knows the long term radiation effect of EMFs on their health as the technology is so new and widespread. In fact we are living through one giant experiment!!

But the increasing numbers of neurological disorders in children such as ADHD and Autism spectrum disorder may be directly attributed to electromagnetic fields.

Inward calcium leakage in the neurons of the brain stimulates hyperactivity and makes it less able to concentrate on tasks, resulting in attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). When this happens in the brains of unborn babies and young children, it reduces their ability to concentrate on learning social skills and can cause autism.

Faced with such dire findings, what can we do to protect ourselves and our children?

Do not give cell phones to children. Children are more at risk as their brains are not yet encased in myelin which is a fatty barrier that coats neurons and helps dim the impacts of radiation. Their skulls are also thinner. If they must have phones for emergencies, ensure that they keep them turned off for most of the time and then if talking, use the speaker phone so that it is not placed close to their brain.
Choose a landline over a mobile or portable phone. Use the speaker phone option to keep the latter type of phone directly away from the ear. Dr Charlie Teo, a neurosurgeon in Sydney, is seriously concerned about the rise in aggressive brain tumours near the ear and side of the head where mobile phones are placed.
Keep wireless devices turned off at night and never place them close to your head while sleeping. This includes your computer, alarm clocks and radios and the base for charging your mobile. Ideally it would be helpful to turn off or disconnect your base station every night before you go to bed even if it is a few rooms away. Levels of microwave radiation from portable phones can be extraordinarily high.
Limit Your Cell Phone Use to Where Reception is Good: The weaker the reception, the more power your phone must use to transmit, and the more power it uses, the more radiation it emits, and the deeper the dangerous radio waves penetrate into your body. Ideally, you should only use your phone with full bars and good reception.

Also seek to avoid carrying your phone on your body as that merely maximizes any potential exposure to heart and hips/back. Ideally put it in your purse or carrying bag. Placing a cell phone in a shirt pocket over the heart is asking for trouble, as is placing it in a man’s pocket if he seeks to preserve his fertility.
Sleep on a non-metal bed and mattress. The rubber base negates magnetic radiation.

Walk Barefoot on the Earth every day

Grounding or walking barefoot may be the missing link to getting healthy and it is FREE. Just on a personal note, I find that I generally feel so much better by walking first thing in the morning on ‘dewy’ grass. The moisture seems to enhance the effect of the earthing! Or alternatively walking on wet sand at the beach.

I can almost hear you scoffing and saying ‘Is that it?’ But stay with me because there is an emerging science documenting how conductive contact with the Earth is highly beneficial to your health and completely safe. Earthing or Grounding appears to minimize the consequences of exposure to potentially disruptive fields like “electromagnetic pollution” or “dirty electricity.”

When bare feet connect with the earth, free electrons from the earth transfer through the skin. Because these electrons are very powerful antioxidants, they help to counteract the negative effects of inflammation as well as cell and tissue damage.

Inflammation has been linked to all chronic diseases including the diseases of aging and the aging process itself. That is why it is important to understand that inflammation is a condition that can be reduced or prevented by grounding your body to the Earth.

Some of the recent evidence supporting this approach involves multiple studies documenting the improvement in blood viscosity, heart rate variability, inflammation, cortisol dynamics, sleep, autonomic nervous system (ANS) balance, and reduced effects of stress by regular contact with the earth.1

Our ancestors did not face any of these problems because the wireless technology affecting us has only taken over our lives in the last 10-20 years.

Also traditional leather footware allowed contact with the earth. However modern day rubber and plastics are electrical insulators and therefore block the beneficial flow of electrons from the Earth to your body. Check your shoes and particularly the sole. Is it leather or a rubber synthetic?

While Grounding is NOT a “treatment” or a “cure” for any disease or disorder, it helps to radically reduce inflammation which is seen as one of the major factors contributing to premature aging and chronic disease.

Look at the perks of tossing those rubber soled shoes and connecting with the earth:

While it may be hard to believe that something as simple and pleasurable as walking barefoot can heal disease, take the time to reconnect with the earth.
